1) Barbara Demick's Nothing to Envy is such a good book!
Speaking of NorKor: the latest news, besides the ongoing talks about who is condemning who for the sinking of the Cheonon submarine is that the American dude, Gomes, who managed to get himself into North Korea and get captured on Jan. 25, has attempted suicide. The U.S. is asking that he be released on humanitarian grounds. read more I suppose his idealism and hopes of converting the North Koreans to Christianity has died.
2) Beer Wars. What a GREAT documentary about beer and the American Dream. Everyone should watch it. There is much to learn about advertising, corporations, and government regulation even if you are not a beer drinker. Now I am even more excited about the Craft Beer Fest in Savannah!
3) FIP 105.1: We listened to this all time in Paris. It is superb and I am listening to it (quietly) at work right now.
