I've been thinking about lasik surgery for awhile, too. Your blogs giving me more reason to do it. A little bit of pain and inconvenience for years of hassle-free vision sounds really nice. Ganbare!
Congrats! You are soooo brave!
@mezamashii - ha ha, OMG I am SO not brave. You should have seen me shaking like a leaf in that operating chair. Even after the Valium. Literally, shaking and panting. I'm still really happy I did it.
@coolnahalf - Thanks! If you are a candidate for lasik, you should do it! There is like zero recovery time as opposed to PRK, which is generally "safer," but the recovery is a little more intense. If you already spend a lot on glasses and contacts, it makes good economical sense. For me though, I just hated having another thing to do every morning/night and another thing to pack and worry about... and I go to bed late, so my contacts would always get dry/irritated at night and when I was stressed and on the airplane... you know the deal.
@justgotspaid - Oh by the gods you are brave. Bravery is signing up for it in the first place. Its fighting the urge to flee, even if it means you are a weeping pile of slush, that proves it.
xoxo
yeeeaaahhhh! it's really a medical miracle...one day needing glasses/contacts and the next, nothing! Although I was a little freaked the first time I had to drive to work and then home at night..still had some halos around the traffic lights..
@justgotspaid- for work I had to drive exactly a week to the day after the surgery...and it was fine, only a bit of halos around traffic lights--I could see well enough to drive...but I did a test drive about 5 days after during the daytime (if I remember correctly) and it was fine. But that was with the iLasik. Glad things are going well!!
@aurore69 - OK-- thanks. Yeah, it's been 8 days. I feel like I could drive if I needed to, but... we'll see
