taxes
So Kyohei and I finally find our dream house in a neighborhood we want to live in AND potentially in our price range, but the taxes are so high on it.... it looks like it is out of reach. House hunting is demoralizing.
disaster, disaster, disappointment.
I should just give up, take my down-payment and pay off the car, get lasik eye surgery, and call it a day.

There's always a "smart home," http://www.google.com/imgres?q=smart+homes,+small&num=10&um=1&hl=en&biw=1525&bih=652&tbm=isch&tbnid=k5R2y-nkyXvEwM:&imgrefurl=http://agreenliving.org/tag/smart-lighting/&docid=VpNT9mI11zSxZM&imgurl=http://agreenliving.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/2118d990d1dwelle-prefab-dwelleings-13-500x372.jpg&w=500&h=372&ei=pWhET6qhJsTKiAL7yuTHDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=337&vpy=153&dur=1414&hovh=194&hovw=260&tx=143&ty=94&sig=107308752491063941732&sqi=2&page=1&tbnh=141&tbnw=187&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=0CIEBEK0DMA8
While I understand the purpose and the statement people are making, the too close quarters seem a bit extreme.
I
don't want a McMansion, just a modest 2 bedroom 1 story home with
enough space for a garden out back. And an affordable mortgage. Is that
too much to ask?
@Saferia - ha ha! I think I saw this in a magazine. Too bad I would still have to purchase the damn land, duh!
