shopping
Yesterday, Kyohei and I went shopping for presents for everyone in [the entire country of] Japan. This is one of those cultural points that makes me so glad I'm not from Asia. If I had to buy all my relatives name brand accessories and clothing every time I went home AND Christmas AND birthdays.... I would never go home.
Anyway, Ralph Lauren Polo had something nice
The front and back of their Japan relief t-shirt. I didn't have $100 that I wanted to invest in one, but the thought was appreciated. [the kanji characters = kibou= hope]

Um, yeah... I'm assuming a donation to the Japan relief efforts in the name of his family wouldn't be acceptable (and a WHOLE lot easier to pack)... What did you end up buying? I'm big on food/ consumable items. Are you both going back, or just Kyohei? I haven't been back to Japan since 2008... I was supposed to go this summer with my Girl Scouts, but life happened... I'm a longing for Japan. My friend recently sent me a package and I deeply inhaled because the package smelled like Japan (call me crazy).
@Saferia - I totally know what you mean about the smell... I would do that too (actually, I'm pretty sure I have...) Yeah, the last time for me was Pilgrimage- 2009. Almost exactly 2 years ago. Everyone is getting t-shirts. His sister is getting some jeans and a dress and grandma and mom are getting coach change purses. Kyohei apparently thinks he makes an investment banker salary lol-- eye roll
