Dog Race
This past Saturday, Kyohei, Mimi, Chitah and I participated in the Annual Dog Days Run. It is put on my the Vet school to raise money for rabies prevention. Now that we have two dogs, both Kyohei and I had a dog to race.

Amazingly, it was cool enough in the morning to wear long sleeves.

Kyohei has been excited about racing with Chitah since she is so fast.

grumpy Mimi is NOT a morning-dog.

Chitah and Kyohei at the start
They took off, leaving me to try to get Mimi to walk. Impossible. I ended up carrying her. She refuses to walk around other people and dogs. She would have won if she could have run the race in reverse.
About half-way into the mile race, Kyohei and Chitah were waiting on the corner. It seems that Kyohei got discouraged when little Chitah could not push herself in front of the big dogs so he gave up and waited for us. How wimpy. When I started to walk with Chitah, Mimi actually started walking. She doesn't like to be away from me and will follow. I raced Chitah to the finish and then went back to walk with Kyohei and Mimi.

Mimi's efforts paid off in the end! She got another medal!

ha ha ha ha! This is her 3rd slowest award. We are so proud.
and the satisfaction of finally tiring Chitah out. She was so laid-back the rest of the morning.
Good family fun!
