rejected!
More than a month after applying to a position that is as close to a 'dream-job' as I could think (besides being a co-host on The View), I finally got this email today:
I am afraid that I have bad news regarding the Japan Study position. You may have gathered this by the absence of communication since your phone interview. The search was complicated by the departure of another staff member in the International Programs Office, which resulted in a delay in our decision while we discussed the relationship between these two positions.
We appreciate receiving your application, and I enjoyed talking about the position with you during the phone interview. Thank you for your patience and please accept our apologies for the tardiness of this e-mail.
Sincerely,
[the woman who interviewed me]
Being a college-educated woman of North America, I should be either a) creating a family b) working hard on advancing my career, but ideally both, right?
What I am if I'm not doing either of those?
having fun?
wasting time?
?
At least I get an interview before being rejected these days. At least it is good to finally know. I've lived the past month not knowing where I would be living in November. Who wants to move to Indiana anyway?
